Sal Calanni left his job as a bio-med lab assistant in Cleveland for a career as a comedian and actor out in California. Over the past few years, he has appeared all over the Bay Area working at the Punch Line Comedy Clubs, Cobb’s Comedy Club, and the San Jose Improv. He has worked with some great performers such as Dave Chappelle, Dave Attell, Paul Mooney, and Ralphie May.
He is also a working actor starring in the film Comedy Ain’t for the Money,Filter, and has starred in, co-wrote, and co-produced the upcoming film,Lucifer’s Crewcut, which includes such talent as Maria Bamford, Arj Barker, Robert Hawkins, Jello Biafra, and GWAR. He was part of the popular San Francisco based comedy sketch group, Tossing Alice and the indie punk/grunge band The Hacks.
Sal uses act-outs and descriptions to paint hilarious pictures for audiences and enjoys expressing his opinions about race, politics, family, and anything else that should probably never be discussed over a bottle of whiskey.
